Life is cheap to some, I guess. A sad story in the local news lately about an Algerian couple who have 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy. The father put in a call to 911 recently for one of his daughters. When the emergency personnel got to the house, they discovered that the girl was having a heart attack, was suffering from head trauma, and that BOTH GIRLS were malnourished to the point of being half the weight of a child that age/size. The BOY was of normal weight.
This story and others recently (the little Chinese girl that was run over and no one helped) makes me wonder about some people/cultures that place such little value on human life, especially female life. It would be nice if immigrants to this country adopt our (collectively) values in regards to the preciousness of life, instead of carrying on with the attitudes of where they originated. Then maybe incidents like this would not be occurring.
