I had my own preconceived biker stereotypes shattered yesterday in Maple Ridge.
I was at a gas station on my dualsport on the way to stave lake when this older guy with long hair, tattoo's,cut off sleeves, earings, ect starts talking to me about bike stuff.
I tell him how riding a dirt bike helped greatly for being in better shape for long distance touring and he responds by telling me how he rode his bicycle for a week before his last trip to Stugis.
Then starts to tell me how he cheated a bit and I figure he is going to tell me how he trucked his road glide or whatever part way.
Then to my surprise he tells me about how much installing heli bars on his hayabusa made the ride so much better.
I found it kind of funny and I guess it serves me right for assuming someone with long hair and tattoo's must ride a cruiser considering the fact I have long hair and get stereotyped as a harley rider myself sometimes.
I like to shatter stereotypes myself but found myself laughing at myself for being just like the people I sometimes mess with.
On a side note here is another preconception that I have that maybe I need to look at.
Is it just me or is Maple Ridge the last suburb in the GVRD where the population is primarily white trash?
