No, not a post for the BCSB version of "Missed Connections."
Partially inspired by SilverD's post on his Honda...
Yesterday, I spent a good part of the day astride my aging '93 VFR. The previous evening was spent rebuilding the clutch slave--not without drama and frustration--but it got done, and things are working as they should. Due to lack of seat time, I was starting to grow frustrated with motorcycles in general, and was giving serious thought to giving up on motorcycles altogether and returning at a later date. I NEVER thought I'd even consider such a course of action a few short years ago.
I set out for the border in the morning and crossed quickly. Do need to get on that Nexus Pass, though. As I wandered around the backroads near Lake Whatcom, I sunk into the familiar rhythm with my old friend. Yes, she needs some newer rubber and maybe some fork work to match the Wilbers out back, but with no need to hurry, it was a sublime experience.
My travels led me to Seattle, where I spent the afternoon evening with some family members on vacation before slogging up the I5 to get home late last night.
Even the I5 was OK, so all must be right with the world.
Now...which to sell? The aging VFR, or the upstart SV?
