NO LONGER FOR SALE
*****PLEASE NOTE: If someone buys the bike but doesn't want some of the accessories, I'll list them afterwards. A few people have inquired, and I've noted their requests. HOWEVER, I'm not going to build a waiting list for accessories at this time*****
This is a great bike, and I have difficulty with the idea of selling it, but sometimes you just need a change. If I had the time, I wouldn't hesitate to ride this bike to any far-off destination tomorrow. Hard bags, heated grips, comfy seat, and a motor that will run forever--just what you need.
It's a high-miler. Current mileage sits at 203,000. I'm the 3rd owner; the 2nd owner had it from ~4000km to 150,000km.
The 2nd owner did have an accident a long time ago--I think it was when the bike had less than 100,000km on it. Much of the plastic was replaced at that time, and the tank was repainted. I would think any residual problems resulting from the accident would have been apparent by now. lol.
Givi luggage side and top luggage racks. (these are no longer available)
Two Givi E360 cases. (can use single as a top case)
Centrestand (was an option in '93, and very hard to find now)
Seat cowl (only works with stock seat, which is also included)
Braided brake lines
Oxford heated grips
Remus exhaust (stock included; the Remus is only slightly louder, and is a high quality unit)
Wilbers rear shock with remote adjustment, including preload (paid about $900 for that)
It's a good bike, and in great shape cosmetically and mechanically--especially considering the age.
The one "issue" with the bike: When the bike sits overnight or longer, the clutch does not disengage properly. If you place the bike in gear, and rock it two or three times, it frees up. It remains fine until it sits for an extended period of time. I replaced the clutch master with a lower-mileage used unit last season, and rebuilt the clutch slave this season. I suspect that there are some burrs on the clutch basket, but I haven't bothered to address the problem because--well--it hasn't bothered me--it's been doing the same thing for several seasons.
We can work on the price if you don't want some of the extras.
$1800 (that's only 1 penny/km!)
Please contact via email or PM. Bike is located in Chilliwack.
