Here's my vacation story of the year.
So, was travelling north on hwy 83 from Missoula, MT, a pickup passes the other way, then whack something hits my foot, it hurts like heck. Thinking a rock got thrown up and hits me. The pain doesn't go away, it doesn't feel right, try moving a few toes, it hurts, I'm thinking something broke. Eventually pull over and then I look down and surprised to see a bolt sticking out of boot. First thought, shit, trip is over, foot is toast.
Hobble over and sit down, everyone says don't pull the bolt out, manage to get a ride to a clinic, the pain slowly subsides, get feeling back into the toes, and I pull out the bolt. There's no blood on the bolt, a good sign. Get the boot off and the bolt passed between the toes, just bruising and scratches. After 1hr things are back to normal. Back on the road. Toes are sore for a few days.
Be careful out there.
