Hey guys I hate to have this as my first thread to all you great motorcyclists, but I crashed hard tonight. I was riding through port moody on the turn around down to Murray St. and as I came around the stop sign at the bottom I accelerated and lost the rear wheel. I must have grabbed a fist full of throttle when it lowsided because it took of on it's side. It slid just long enough to scrape a hole in the tank and she went up in flames. It was spectacular, the flames were 20 feet high. Luckily for me, there was a minivan right in front of me who saw the whole thing and will verify that I wasn't doing anything stupid. I really don't like d207s anymore. Anyway, I have collision but not fire, do you think I'm screwed? I've got road rash on my right kidney and on my left elbow. My left leg is banged up pretty bad but I walked away so I'm glad. I'm sorry to have this as my first post but I still look forward to riding with you guys when I get all this sorted out. Just a little info for you people, my name is Robert and I've been riding for about 15 years. I've been into sport bikes since I got my cbr900rr about 4 years ago (almost to the day). I work weekends selling bikes at RMS and have already met some of you. This is my first major get off and I don't really feel any better aboutfinally having it. Any way the accident happened about two hours ago and it's now 11. I've got to go to bed now but thanks for listening. Any info on dealing with icbc would be appreciated.
