So for those who care and/or caught a glimpse of the games what is your take?
I was impressed with how they turned out; perhaps a bit thin in the first place finishes but not bad. No major security issues, and proportional to their population, the Brits certainly did extremely well. Some very strange moments in the opening and closing ceremonies for me but I suppose it's hard to artistically please everyone (music was largely great though).
With many friends on our rowing team, I will be partial and say my most favourite moment was watching the W8+ win silver, though at the same time I was disappointed with our LM2 which should have done better in spite of drawing a tough rep.
Aside from the rowing events, in 50 years the thing I will remember most about these games will be the excellent result for our soccer team and Paula Findlay's selfless and unnecessary public apologies - I hope she'll be able to hold out for Rio!
