Margin of Error for Fuel Stabilzer

1. ## Margin of Error for Fuel Stabilzer

Hey guys. I was just going to put some Stabil in my tank since my bike will be sitting a bit, but I'm not sure exactly how much I'll need, as the tank is not 100% full. Yes I know it says 10mL per 3L, and obviously I can guestimate based on the tank level, but I'm worried about what may happen if my guess is off. I'm a new rider and can't ride my bike yet, so filling the tank to max isn't really an option.

So my question is: is putting too much or too little an issue? Or does it not matter too much either way. Thanks.

3. It should not be a problem if you are within reason.

When I bought my bike they said it was 'loaded' with Stabilizer it ran poorly for the first 2 tanks after that it ran fine.

4. I have seen people put in far less and far more than what is spec, without an issue, as above as long as you're not ridiculous.

What he said. Don't worry about it as long as you get some in.

6. Find out the volume of the fuel tank. Buy a jerry can, fill it up... and top the bike up to full. Calculate how much fuel stabilizer is required, and pour it in.

This isn't rocket science.

Bandito is right... Fill the tank to full and no guessing needed... plus you should always leave your tank full so it doesn't rust...

8. Yea....i was gonna say.....why not just fill your tank up. Then you know how much is in there.

9. Make sure to fill it with non-ethanol fuel as well. Ethanol will attract water as it sits over the winter.

10. Remember to run the bike to get the gas and stabilizer mixed in and circulated into the fuel lines and carbs.

11. Everyone should own a jerry can.... better than that guy in the news filling up garbage bags with gasoline last week!
