skills test victoria
Gotta write the test on the 30th have no supervisor nor a clue what the test consists of, can anyone help?
Here'st he course outline that I wrote after doing VISC:
Remove bike off kick stand and walk bike to designated cones. Put bike on kick stand. Get on bike and start her up, remove kick stand.
Ride bike at a walking pace to Step 3, tester may tell you to speed up or slow down. Stop with your front wheel between the 4 designated cones at Step 3.
Complete a U-turn, exit and ride through the slalom without stopping. When your rear tire has passed the last cone in the slalom you must come to a stop. You may now ride OR walk your bike to step 4, this part is is not tested.
Do a sharp left hand turn through the cones and again ride at a walking pace and stop between the 4 cones marked on step 3. Complete step 3 again, U-turn and slalom. Stop after rear tire goes passed the last cone in the slalom. Ride OR walk bike to step 5.
Do a sharp right hand turn. After the turn you must speed up to 25-30 km/h and shift into second gear. Do a loop around the course, when you get to the other side (where the line is) the tester will be standing there with his hand up. When he puts his hand down, you must come to a safe and complete stop as fast as you can, as well as shift down into first gear. The tester will ask you what gear you're in. Your response should be "First gear."
Go back to step 5, and repeat this step. After you have come to a stop again the tester will ask what gear you're in (first, right?) and then ask you to turn off your bike. He will tell if you've passed or failed immediately.
Yup, trust this guy, he likes to help escort the young guys all the time.

Here is a small tip that I gleaned from just doing the skills test in Victoria. This will help your turning radius for the sharp uturn from stand still. She will get you to walk your bike up to a square box that is about 2 feet by 2 feet ( #3 on the above diagram). The first part is to measure your bikes turning radius. She tells you to put your front tire anywhere in the box. So for the first part put your front tire to the left side of the box as much as possible. From there she will get you to push the bike at full lock. Then measure and set the cones appropriately. Then you go back to the start and do the slow ride, and she will get you to stop the bike with your front tire in the same box. This time keep your bike to the right most part of the box to start your utrun. This will effectively give you anther 2 feet for lee way when doing your uturn. Another way to cheat ( if you are so inclined) is to not exactly have your bike at full lock when pushing it to measure the turning radius.
Of course if you have been practising then the utruns are a piece of cake. Just a few tips to help you with the uturns which are the only difficult part of the test really.
