Good luck Mr Hutchinson, you have a poor track record for winning cases.
The slow driver in the left lane should be ticketed more often. They cause other operators to drive aggressively to get around these dick's. Please, at least learn to keep up with traffic.
What I find also is people have a hard time in congestion to follow the ebb and flow of traffic. Stop, Go, Stop, Go instead of adjusting there speed accordingly. Let's look a head a bit more.

Let's use one of the speed limits on Hwy1, say 100 km/hr. Using his argument, why not set the limit to 90, 80, or lower. Is he implying that no freeway speed limits are safe? Using his argument, how low does a speed limit has to be in order to be safe then?University of British Columbia traffic safety expert Tarek Sayed isn’t as hostile to the need-for-speed argument; however, he noted in an email to the National Post the “several logical reasons to expect a negative impact of speed on safety. For higher speeds, stopping-sight distances and the distance travelled during the driver reaction time are greater. As well, the opportunity for skidding is increased and the energy in the moving vehicle is directly related to the square of the speed. There is also significant impact on the safety of vulnerable road users. Our research at UBC shows that both the operating speed and the speed variance increase the frequency and severity of collisions. This is also confirmed by many studies in the U.S. and Europe.”
On a more pragmatically level, are not people really looking for a speed limit plus other relevant factors which will keep our highways safe enough. There will always be accidents resulting in fatalities and injuries.
Instead of second guessing based on theories, why not use accident statistics, which are indicative of real life consequences, and would include all the factors, to help to determine whether a speed limit among other factors is sufficiently safe or not.
What Tarek Sayed put forth doesn't say anything on what the speed limit should be. Instead it merely provide guidance as to which way the speed limit should go, up or down, depending on accident rates and severity.
Sun article was detailed but this is good coverage. Good to know there are others in Ontario that see this problem too.
Raise the limit and strictly enforce the left lane hoggers to move over. Next, a higher speed for motorcycles (just like some of USA highways that trucks have a lower limit than cars) to pass safely to avoid those heavier vehicles.
I felt sorry for a Washington state driver I saw today on the Lougheed.
He was doing the speed limit exactly in the left lane and when I passed him on the right he immediately moved over to the right lane.
I wonder what Washington drivers feel like driving here? They must be horrified.
and keep dump and semis out of the passing lane.
the number of those twats drag racing each other and taking kilometers to pass is too damn high

huh ... speed kills eh, it's not the speed it's the sudden stop. Also, i've been yelling at drivers in front of me for years to move over to the right but they never listen ... at time, trying to pass on the right when i get fed up they start weaving to the right as well causing an issue for the both of us.
My dad grew up in eastern europe, it clearly stated in the rule book "slower traffic keep right", it wasn't a suggestion, it was the law. I love going down to the states cuz at least they have signs and people generally follow that one simple guideline of common decency and logic but here it's just plain anarchy on the roads.

^Those people are a 100 times worse than people who just want to clip along at a comfortable pace. I'm not talking about dangerous agressive drivers who swerve in and out of lanes like it's a race either. Yer 299 and here's my fucking gopro assholes.
