let's see if I can accurately describe the issue I'm having. On the clutch lever, I have a bit too much play in it, in that the top right corner of the lever isn't within 3mm of where the cable connects to, and I can tighten that up by adjusted the screw? at the end of the clutch cable, but in doing that it changes where the friction zone on the clutch is, to the very end of the lever (hand almost fully extended) and I like the friction zone in the middle of the movement between fully extended and fully pulled in. When I got the bike the lever had too much play in it, but I can't find a way to keep the friction zone where it is, and also lessen the amount of play in the lever.
from looking at the shop manual, it looks like I should be able to adjust that at the other end of the cable, but I'm not sure if that's correct and it looks like I'd have to take off the right side fairings to get at it. Is there anything I'm missing? Anyone an expert on this that would be willing to take a look sometime next week or maybe this weekend? I'm off next week so aside from monday I'd be willing to ride out somewhere with it and see if it's possible to fix it up. I mentioned it at burnaby kawasaki when I was back there last time but they just tightened it up at the lever and the friction zone at the very top of the lever isn't where I like it. Should I just leave it as it is? any downside to leaving it?
as stated a few times, I'm not very familiar with bike mechanics yet, although I'm slowly (very slowly) trying to learn
thanks in advance for any advice
