Well guys (and girls),
Today my buddy (Blueballs) and I went to the only local shop with a Dyno - S&M Cycle in Langford.
The main reason we went was to see the results of his Ivan's carb kit. He went a few days ago to get some baseline numbers, went home and installed the kit himself, and we went back today to see what improvements (if any) there were. I went along to watch and maybe throw my '00 ZX6R on there if there was time.
His numbers were damn impressive - 131 rwhp with 75+ ft.lbs torque. Thats with the Ivan's kit but a stock exhaust.
We only had time for two runs with my bike and I was too cheap to pay for the shop to find my black box, wire it up, and set the computer all for the torque reading. So, we ran it up, warmed it up, and revved it up!
My bike has 3000km's and has some minor jetting mods (shims and larger main jets) and I've got a Yosh Ti can on there - other than that it is stock performance wise.
For the first run, I worked the bike and the shop owner ran the computer - very simple, put it in fourth and twist it until it goes bap, bap, bap, bap, bap!!! Peak hp was 96.7 I think.
Next run, he jumped on the bike and I worked the computer. For his run he ran it right up to redline in every gear until fourth and he got a better reading than I did - 99.8hp!
I gotta say that I was impressed with my old F4 running 93 ponies but for this bike to just about crack 100 that was exciting.
All in all, it was a great time and I would be a complete idiot if I didn't mention the guys - especially Kelly, the owner, and comment on the fantastic service, professionalism, and value they gave us. If anyone needs work done on thier bike or if you're curious about what your bike might register on the dyno, give 'em a call. They are primarily a BMW shop but they work on all models and makes.
I'll be posting the actual dyno run up here once Blueballs gets them scanned and I figure out how to post pics and such - we've got some nice ones of us in the dyno room!
UPDATE: My chart is available to view in my Gallery, check it out!!!
