New Member (not really) saying Hi

Just wanted to say hello, made this account solely for the purposes of finding a bike for a friend, but since the community is nice, just thought I'd say hello.

Some questions for you guys, but I have a friend (the same guy above) who wants to purchase a bike right now, do you think it'd be wise to do so without a license? He's been riding before, but he is still in GLP for a vehicle and would prefer to wait the two months or so instead of having to do it for a Class 6 all over again. What do you guys think? Is it worth the storage/upkeep of a bike?

Unless the rules changed or are about to change (because I thought I heard somewhere recently that they were going to), if you already have a class 5 then it takes very little time to get your class 6. I went from Knowledge Test to Skills Test to Road Test and full class 6 in about a month. How far away from his class 5 is he?

I think the majority of the answers will be the same as mine. Bikes are not rare or hard to find, your friend should wait until after he has taken a course and gotten his license. Might as well get the dropsies (if he has any) out on someone else's bike.

Haven't really told him this existed... Might be a good idea. It's another two months or so until he has an opportunity for a Class 5.
