Well as I said in another thread, I sold my Street Triple and set out to replace it with two bikes.
This is bike numero uno! 2009 ZX6R with just under 10000 km. Its not perfect by any stretch, It has been wrecked but was properly repaired, (had it inspected), and suits my needs and more importantly my budget perfectly.
This bike will be plated, I am going to use it for multi day trips, track days and quick day trips. No commuting.
After riding almost every 600 I realized this one just felt right. The suspension and riding position were night and day better than any of the others I sat on or rode. I know this is all personal preference but for me this was the bike I knew I wanted...just needed to find one cheap enough.
The view from the seat in my opinion is the best....lots of name brand bling!
My first mod will be to have the Ohlins damper re-valved, I am hoping RMR can do this for me...If not I know of a shop in Seattle that can.
I found the bike on pnwriders.com It was being sold by one of the mods, a very reputable member. He turned out to be an absolutely great guy. I ended up staying at his house when I went down to pick it up. Spent the Friday night with him and his lovely girl. They took me out for an AMAZING dinner and beers at Podnah's (think partner in a Texas accent.) If you are a BBQ fan you have to try this place. Great food, cool vibe albeit hipstery, and reasonable prices.
In the morning they took me for another great meal, Portland is a great food city with many great places to eat, these are now two of my favorites. For breakfast we went for biscuits and gravy, which I am usually not a fan of. Well these were simply mind blowing. I had The Reggie and was full for the rest of the day. Again good prices, great vibe and great coffee. Again hipster city.
Then it was time to load up the bike and bring her home. No hiccups what so ever. The import process has been written up so many times I am not going to get into it but if anyone has any questions at all don't hesitate to ask or PM me.
Many plans for mods over the winter....can't wait to get farkling!!!
