That's what you get for assuming it's safe to cross the street. Whether it's your right of way or not, you aren't going to win when a car hits you. Hell I've lost count how many times I've seen retards looking down with their hoods & headphones on and just walk over a pedestrian crossing, half the time the car has to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the douche.
maybe they should lower the speed limits for pedestrians.
i live in richmond where the predominant hair color is black, as is the clothing color, hand bag, shoe, glove and umbrella. At night you have to look for the motion as the background lights are blocked to indicate there is somebody crossing the road, not necessarily in a cross walk.
It's just what you come to expect, if you are on your toe's and lucky you just have near miss's, so far.
What you are We once were---What we are You will be, Voices of the dead.
You cannot legislate common sense. I predict an increase in these kind of accidents. Electronic component [I-phones] addictions guarantee it.
look outside. It's 11am and it's practically fucking dark out. No wonder nobody sees pedestrians, especially those wearing dark clothes and jay walking. That, combined with slippery roads and people who don't pay attention when they drive is a recipe for death.

"I dread beyond all else the growth of the petty tyranny of restrictive legislation, the transference of disciplinary authority from the judiciary to the constabulary, the abandonment of every constitutional safeguard of individual liberty."
They were giving out pedestrian tickets today to peds crossing the street when the red hand was flashing. $109 ticket.
near cambie and braodway
^^ Awesome!! Ultimately everyone is responsible for themselves and no one should put their trust in motorists.
I have seen so many times idiots step on the crossway without ever looking on the road for any vehicles with careless drivers behind the wheel failing to slow down.... only to break hard at the end. I often fought the urge to shout at them.... Just because its your right of way doesn't mean you can step on the road without due care.
And to the drivers who driver like their wife's in labor......... slow down and pay attention on the road. The weather in BC is not very driver friendly. Its usually dark, foggy, raining with limited visibility so please be careful.
