So I went to action motorcycles today to try my first sport bike.
The lady working the demo day was bitchy to say the least anyways I tried a 2003 F4i and a VFR 800.
It had more power or atleast it seemed that way, also had more lower end get up than the VFR. I have only riden dual sports and my KLR 650 when I downshift to 2nd or 1st it skids the tire and kicks it out. So I tried to do the same with the F4i just to try it out, I only got it to work once. But the breaks were awsome. I also liked the sound and puch when ripping thouhg first to second. We were in a group and I only got a few chances to giver in second.
SOUNDS FATTY. Like the dual exhaust sounds dam fat. I was going around and when you giver it sounds really nice and once you hit like 6000rpm it gets loud. It seemed like a Mustang of sport bikes, nice and low growly. Anyways I liked this bike as I could drive around in 1st gear though the city and just rip the throttle. It also did not vibrate as much as the F4i but I also felt it did not have as much power. Both WERE SO FUN.
Cons the F4i riding position felt ok but at about 10 mins into the ride my wrist were sore and my back was hurting.
The VFR was a little better, no writst pain but back kinda hurt.
Is it just cause I never ride these bikes is that why it hurt?
Also my neck was in pain too.
I wrode for about 1.25 hrs like 2 40 min periods.
Once I drove back to sidney I could really feel the pain in my back. Its fine now (about 1 hr later) but it hurt before that.
So is that what it is always like I just have to get used to the riding position?
I also rode a F3 600 afterwards, the fuel injection is way different as one the F4 and VFR it was very touchy and snaped me around a little in first but if I owned the bike I would get used to it and get the throttle right. The F3 also had a better riding postion than the F4i.
I the cons of the F3 were the breaks felt weak, and the bike was not as tight as the new one but that can be expected. Anyways the F3 had a Yosh pipe on it and was fucking loud.
Also how do you guys do your wheelies on these bikes. On my KLR I can just punch it in first and pull up the front wheel. I tired to do a wheelie (just tried like 2wice) on the F3 but only punched it in first. Anyways I really like how tight all the bikes were in the corners.
Well if someone can please post about the riding postion and pains. Thanks
