a giant fucking flaming turd crater of a movie.
that is all.
I enjoyed the LoR trilogy, however I saw a preview of the Hobbit and it just looked awful and uninteresting. Certainly not worthy of an almost 3hr investment in my time.
"There's probably no god. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life"
yeah, i just thought i'd post this up for anyone considering going to see it.
i'm not a LOR fanboi at all and never read the books so looked at this purely from an entertainment perspective and it failed miserably. i'd suppose for someone who was into LOR it would be even more of a disappointment. just sooooooo badly overdone in so many ways. i actually fell asleep at least twice suring the movie and so many timesi was sitting there thinking ok i've had enough of this scene already, get on to the next pile of shit so i can get teh fuck out of here. my evning would have been better spent watching re-runs of the golden girls on a 14" black and white tube tv.
I thought it was going to be the whole book.. then I heard it was made into a trilogy. Now I have no intention of seeing it whatsoever.
I think I read the book in school in less time than it took to watch just part one of this, good grief!
That's an awesome review!
The difference between you and me .........
That's pretty crap. This was a big book in my childhood and I'm hoping to enjoy the detail. I've heard mixed reviews of the film but am excited to see it in 48fps.
From what I've seen of the trailers, the movie looks almost like the whole thing is CGI to me. I don't think I would like it visually, even if the movie was good, just due to what I can see of the trailers.

but aside from that, and even when taking into account the fact that this is a fantasy movie, pretty much the whole thing was so contrived it rendered it (ha! appropriate pun) totally without merit. the only reason i'm slamming the movie this hard is that i really found it to be a complete and utter waste of time and feel it's my duty as a relatively rational and intelligent human being to spare other people from being subjected to 3 hours of dreck.
So this is a bad movie:
This movie can't possibly be as bad as glitter. I refuse to believe Peter Jackson could do that bad of a job. I understand you feel your time was wasted but it can't be that bad.
with the hobbit though there was the expectation that while i might not rave about or even find it good i would at least be reasonably entertained. i certainly did not expect that i would be sitting there for the majority of the movie looking around for a fork so i could poke my eyeballs out instead of having to be further subjected to what was on the screen. both my buddy and i seriously thought about getting up and leaving part way through and neither of us have ever done that for any film - even ones that we've disliked. i guess part of the reason we stayed is that there was some brief hope (based on the previous efforts surrounding this movie/theme) that somehow they might pull this thing together in the last bit and at least give me something to salvage the evening with. going into the show i was not aware that this was to be another trilogy, so when the movie ended with an oh so obvious forecast that there was to be more to this shitstorm of a saga, i literally said out loud "you've got to be fucking me".
i can see how some people might appreciate parts of the movie and could even go so far as to say they liked it, but it really escapes how there are some who are saying the movie was actually good. personally i think for someone to say this was a good piece of movie making, that it had artistic merit, they must either have a very high level of bias or lack cirtical reasoning skills to the degree that a rubber band could keep them entertained for the nearly 3 hours time run of this farce of a show.
