Was heading to Home Depot in Surrey a couple hours ago. Cross over Patullo, about to take the right on to 128th when I see a dog on the side of the road - just laying there on the right shoulder. I figure he's lost, slam the brakes, turn on hazards and reverse... get out of the car and it hits me... he's not lost, he's laying in a pool of blood. Covered him with a towel from my trunk (that I use to dry off my own dog!), RCMP showed up in about 10 min, a few people stopped, found some sheets of plastic to use as a gurney, transferred him into the back of the police cruiser and they headed off to the nearest 24/7 emergency. Owner showed up 10 minutes later, older guy, in shock, had no idea what was going on, didn't understand anything... one of the guys that stopped (volunteer w/ a fire dept. somewhere here) took him in his car to drive him to the clinic.
Can't get the sight of the poop guy of my mind. What kind of piece of shit do you have to be to hit an animal like that and drive off? Probably one of those pricks that always jump into that turn/merge lane to pass a few cars. That recent thread with a video of a rider getting hit by a car in China doesn't come even close to seeing this in person. fuck.
