I love the "prefect widget never intended for the purpose", I was draining my carbs for the first time and needed some way to get the gas into a bucket and not all over the engine.
I tried a few things kicking around the garage, nothing quite did it. Way too tight in there for most things, and a long way in.
Wandering Rona, found a plastic toilet water tube, about 12" long with a rather phallic end on it for about $4. Cut the end at a shallow angle, it's perfect.
I'm sure most of you already have a thing for that, but thought I'd share.
Bonus that my 5 year old could help hold the tube while I turned the drain screw, good time to talk about gasoline, what it does, when it's dangerous.
