Last few months I've been driving to work (Downtown). Roundtrip, including gas and parking, runs me about $25 per day. Recently decided to go back to taking the train, as it's faster and cheaper, although not nearly as comfortable. I have to take a bus to get to the train, and the bus sucks big time, as it's always either early or late, or doesn't come at all, and runs every 30 minutes by the time I get off work. Basically, a pain in the ass.
So I figure I'll get a monthly parking stall near the Skytrain. Found a great location, advertised at $55/month, I figure hell yeah, let's do this. I call up the bastards at Impark and get the usual spill of an extra $30 charge for the parking pass, and another $25 for the access key to the parkade (both supposedly refundable when I cancel my parking and return the items). Shitty, but predictable. The real kicker is something new to me: Translink tax on parking! 21.5% on top of the HST for the parking every month, and even for these two stupid items. So the $55 parking turns to $61 after HST, and then to $75 after the Translink tax! What is this bullshit?!?!
And those fucks still have the nerve to complain about not having money, after collecting dough from every damn mode of transportation.
May they burn in hell at a slow, eternal roast.
That is all.
