I hope I am not revising an old topic or beating a dead horse, but I did want to see what peoples opinions on counter steering vs body steering is.
In PRS and other riding schools they always talk about importance of counter steering. If you want to turn, you counter steer. Simple as that. Books talk about it, instructional movies talk about it, riders talk about it.
Then one day I picked up a book by Reg Pridmore, and he went as far as saying that counter steering is not a best way to steer, but instead you need to do body steering. Instead of pushing on the bar where you want to go (push right, go right) you put all the weight on the inside peg and shift your body that way as well to initiate the steering. (some would say this is counter steering too)
Now if this was anyone else other then Reg Pridmore, i would call bs and move on, but man does know what he is talking about, and in his school he is teaching this form of steering and not counter steering.
Thoughts? Same, different, who cares?
