Repackaged NC700S? DN-01 styling concept applied to the NC700S?

They're getting people in their 50's coming into a dealership. Never owned a bike. Never drove a standard transmission, don't want a scooter.

So why are they catering to that group vs. the sport riders who want a new CBRRCX75?

Those old folks have the cash.

Cycle Barn in Marsville has a low mile & mint condition Ascot for sale. Black one though, I liked the orangey red
    version better.

I'm surprised they aren't all low mile and mint. For a motorcycle to accrue wear and mileage, it must be ridden... and who would willingly ride one those aberrations?

Really? As far as old thumpers go I thought it wasn't too bad. There were two for sale here a while back. Somewhat reasonable parts availability but the electrics are garbage. It's not an SR500 but still.

To each their own; I've always looked upon them with some serious derision... but then again, there's never any accounting for taste, right?

Confusingly, there were two Honda Ascot's, the FT500 pictured above, and the VT500 twin http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/cl...cot-vt500.aspx . Neither one of these can ever be considered a blue chip collector, but I prefer the twin not only because the single was more seriously butt ugly, but the twin more represents the 'theme' of the name "Ascot Park".

The ascot wasn't a very good bike in my opinion. Neither was the DN01, or the latest abomination.
Long Live Shervin Of The North!
