I found that I wasn't using my GP as much as I should mainly because I hated to stop and mess around with getting the camera mounted, level, and safely suction cupped to my FJR windshield. So, I bought a GoPro tripod mount, made a couple of aluminum parts on my lathe, drilled a .250" hole in my windshield ( Yikes ! ) and I was done. Now, I can get the camera out of my tank bag and have it mounted and level in about 30 seconds. That means that I am far more likely to really use it. Because the mount is so much better than the suction cup, I left it on for an extended period yesterday. The one big down side is that it had just that much more time to collect bugs on the lens Bummer... Otherwise, this is just a huge improvement in mounting. I was happy to make that .250" sacrifice. Who cares what it may do to reduce the resale value of the bike; nickles & dimes at the most.
