I was out for a day ride yesterday ( Tuesday ). It was a terrible day... warm, sunny, minimal traffic. You guys who stayed at work really did the right thing... Anyway, I was about 20 Km's north of Spences Bridge, and this big hairy, scraggly mountain sheep hops over the concrete barrier on my right. As luck wouldn't have it, I was in the right lane ( it was a passing zone ) and a pickup truck was right on my tail. I hit the brakes as hard as I dared not knowing which of these big bastards I was going to come into contact with. I was sure the truck didn't see the sheep as I would have been blocking most of his view. I aimed for his ass end hoping that he'd keep moving to my left but he turned around and moved back to the edge of the road; I moved back to the left as did the truck. I think I got down to about 20 Km/h before moving on. I've had two near death experiences with deer, but never anything like this thing.
The roads were glorious. Vancouver - Mission - Spences Bridge - Ashcroft - Logan Lake - Merritt - Spences Bridge ( again ) Cache Ck - Lillooet - Pemberton - Vancouver.
Even the Sea to Sky was very quiet and a joy to ride for once.
