so it looks like i will be able to buy a new bike alot sooner than expected. (like now instead of the fall) but i am still not sure what bike to get. (edit to add. current bike 2011 cbr250r. riding experience 8yrs)
i do know what i want in a bike. ABS, sitting ergo better (more upright) or atleast equal to the cbr250. Must be in the 401-750cc rate class. Want all day ride comfort and being old i tend to ride conservatively, some would say slow but i fail to see how +20 to 30 over is slow. I like my bike and dont want an impound so i watch the speed.
I am pretty sure i will rule out the new Honda 500's as it not that much of a step up. So thinking about the 2013 Ninja 650 abs. Perfect ergo for me. Seems to be a decent reliable and has the potential to go fast.
But also thinking about the SV650s, yes at stock its too aggressive ergo wise. If i got that bike i would have to raise the bars - like to the way the Gladius is. (and no i dont want a Gladius) I read good things about the SV and like some of its features like hydraulic clutch and gear indicator.
But i have also given thot to the GSX650f but the turn off is that thing is a pig (too heavy) The Versys would work too but no abs so that rules that out.
Even thot about a Vstrom, people have told me it super comfy to ride but i have a hard time imagining it be good on the hwy and in mild twisties (even tho rider said it does fine)
Now i know the best place to check them all out in one stop is Holeshot but probably not buy there. If Ninja it would be at BK and if a Suzuki probably Motorcycle world or NorthShore. Thinking about just doing a trade in of old bike instead of selling private. I know i get more private but can be a pain. Guess it depends on what i am offered in trade in.
well thanks for reading and any comments. Decisions decisions.......
