    posting photo

    HI,
I keep trying to post a photo and this forum won't let me! I read the comments that it has to be hosted elsewhere - I did that - and it still won't accept the URL!! I even opened a new account with "imgur" and no luck!
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

use imgur.com. once you upload the pic, when you click on it, you will get a bunch of different links. One of them is a BBcode. Copy that and paste it in the message. Or as DNA showed above use [img][/img] tags with link in between. It's same thing, but one creates whole line for you.

Code that you need to cpy from imgur and paste in the message is highlighted in green:

Imgure is a shitty site, not user friendly.....you have to fucking hunt around to find the link....I honestly hate it. I'd like to stick my gun in someones face over there after 5 min on their site.

There has to be a better one.

You're just computer r'tard. It's actually easier if you don't have an account. Pretty simple, go to site, browse for picture, hit upload, then all the links and the picture magically appear in front of you. I'm not really sure why it's so complicated.

the problem is with this forum site! When you click on the "image" button it pops up and asks you to enter the URL or to find the file on your computer - from there it returns an "invalid" response to EVERYTHING!!
What you have to do is paste the URL into the actual message box - like where I'm typing now - and just cancel the stupid useless popup box.
    Now it should work.
    Cheers!
p.s. maybe admin wants to take a look at that??

Dont use the buttons. If you have a link to your pic, just use the tag that DNA posted, and you are done. No need for buttons and crap.

And imgur is quite easy and nice to use with or without account. Just follow what FF said. And imgur has option to auto resize pics for various uses.

No, no it isn't a shitty site. You go to imgur.com

You drag and drop your file. Hit upload. Link is on the right. Done.

If you are using the image button on the forum, it defaults to "from computer". You have to change it to "from URL" and paste your link there. Underneath is a check box labeled " Retrieve remote file and reference locally". Uncheck that, and it will work fine. The reason is there aren't any images hosted on this site anymore, so options to host locally don't work. Maybe that is one thing Adam can tweak a bit.

This is why I have not been uploading anything....besides imgur what would a better option for photo storage be. I am using dropbox but that would not work here. And FYI when I tried to install imgur it somehow redirected me and loaded some stupid spyware thing that I just figured out and deleted. It wanted to know all my other accounts and wanted to link it to it.
