last year i'd been toying with the idea of building up a bobber of sorts and i picked up a cruiser for a great price. the main goal was to keep things relatively cheap and set a total budget of about $1200 to take care of everything incl some new tires.
this is what i started with - 98 honda shadow ACE 750 in stock trim.
for tires i decided to go with whitewalls and the others things that were first on the list were to replace the beach bars with some drag bars and to update the mirrors. i decided to go with a wider that stock front tire to give the front end a bit of a beefier look which meant having to ditch the front fender - not a bad thing tho as i was planning to pull it anyway. i also managed to snag a deal on a set of bags from carter honda for 65% off - old stock they just wanted to get rid of. the bags add a nice touch and make the bike a lot more functional as well.
i just finished putting the new bars, mirrors and front tire on and will get to the rear tire sometime this week. next up is to shorten the rear fender and then lower the bike with some progressive springs for the front end and lowering links for the rear.
