So I have been trying some experiments with bluetooth programs and hardware this week to see if I can achieve the results I am after.
What I am looking for is a simple solution for some kind of radar/laser protection on my commuter bike (drz400sm).
I have a sena headset and an android phone and multiple radar detectors.
I was thinking about the escort live system but my 9500i would need to be upgraded to a 9500ix ($140) and I would need a new cord ($100).
So I saw this thing at the cosco return store in maple ridge the other day and figured I would give it a try .It cost$20.
It did work with a radar detector (solos2) and connected to the sena headset, but would not let me listen to music from my phone as it was a constant open channel (like a live mic).
It also worked well with my mp3 player but no remote controls like with a phone, just controls on the player.
So being as my phone and headset work well together I figured I would look at one of these cheap cobra iradars I had seen at lordco.
I figure for $110 it is worth a try and if it sucks I will return it.
This is only for city stuff on my drz which rarely exceeds 110kph anyway ( I have an escort 9500i on my sportbike).
Mostly what I am after here is a unit that will give me warning via bluetooth over my music and not be a hassle to set up.
The women from lordco just called me and said she just got it in so I am going to go pick it up and test it in my car before I try it on the bike.
I will compare it to the solos2 and bel940 I have in my car and see how bad it is but I am more concerned about how well it will work with my phone and sena unit.
