Re Chevron Station #441
Saturday, June 15th I stopped on my motorcycle to buy gas and have something to eat at the Chevron/White Spot in Merritt. I pulled up the the pump and inserted my credit card. It was denied and i was told to see the attendant inside. I figured that the message must be because that I had already bought gas at 3 other Chevrons that day. I switched to my Master Card after the pump cleared and again my card was denied and I was told to go inside and see the attendant. I gave him my Visa Card to see if your internal security had shut down my card but it went right through without my needing to provide my pin. I had to estimate my fuel purchase and the card was pre authorized.
I decide to have a bite to eat and I got to watch something quite unusual. When the next car came up to the pump I was sent inside from the car was able to buy gas. Moment later an older gentleman pulled up on his motorcycle and was unable to buy gas and had to walk inside. I walked out when another car came up to the pump I used and was able to by gas and I asked the driver if the pump was working with his card and he said it was. I then walked over to another another couple who had arrived on two motorcycles and asked them if there credit cards had been turned down and they had had to go inside. I ushered inside to pay.
By this time the gentleman who had gone inside had returned and I asked him if the pump declined his credit card and he said yes he hd to go inside and prepay for fuel. He left and other car showed up bought fuel at the pump he used and then left. Then another motorcycle showed up and coming as no surprise the Motorcyclist's card was turned down and he had to go inside and prepay.
It appears that each time a motorcycle arrives at the Merritt Chevron Station the staff at that Station are profiling motorcyclists and subjecting us to inconvenience and now that I have seen it occur unjust harassment. Please reply explaining why this is happening to us?
I am looking forward to their reply. The probability of 6 consecutive motorcyclists using different gas pumps and all having to go inside to prepay for their gas because their Credit card has a bad strip or chip is statistically next to impossible. The fact that car drivers using the same pumps and their personal credit cards not having this problem makes this happening even more remote.
If anyone else has had this happen at a Chevron Station post up the Station and the situation.
