Thanks for all the advice on my previous thread in General Sportbike Chat.
We left Horseshoe Bay on the first ferry (7:25) and then headed to Powell River on each consecutive ferry. We caught the 12:00 over to Comox easily. There were no issues with connecting all three ferries.
We then took the Inland Island Hwy up to Campbell River and did Gold River and back. The first half of the road to Gold River was great, but the second half was a little straighter and less fun. Wow, Gold River almost seemed like a ghost town.
We spent the night in Campbell River and ate an AWESOME dinner at 'Rip Tide' right on the water. The next day we rode down to Duncan on the Old Island Hwy and then headed to Lake Cowichan. We filled up in Duncan and had no issues making it to Sooke.
The road in-between L.C. and Port Renfrew is paved, but I do not think I would go out of my way to ride it again. The pavement is rough, there is a lot of traffic and although there are some good corners you are always wondering what is around the bend.
The road from Port Renfrew to Sooke on the other hand was one of the best in the trip. Awesome pavement and awesome twisties. We had a great dinner in Sooke at Mai Mai's.
We caught the 9:00 ferry back to Tswawwassen (from Victoria) and the ride was over. Sunny and 25C both days. Just an unbelievable ride. Great weather, minor traffic, minor authorities and lots of twisties.
Pics to follow.
