    1999 vfr800

    1999 Honda VFR 800 Interceptor
84,xxx kms (These engines have been known to go 300,000+ km’s:

Many would argue that this vintage is the best of the ‘sport touring’ VFR’s: Gear driven cams, fuel injected, single sided swing-arm, centre-stand, no restrictive cats, NO VTEC, and a bulletproof V4. Better said here: http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2011/...honda-vfr800i/ and here:

Recently replaced chain and sprockets, new NGK Iridium spark plugs, and near new Michelin Pilot Power 3’s.
Suspension completely revamped this past month: Forks have fresh seals and new Motul oil, new springs, and compression valves from Daugherty motorsports. Rear shock is a rebuilt and revalved Daugherty Motorsports item with preload/rebound/compression adjustment. Recent oil and filter change with synthetic as well.

    Gen-Mar Handlebar Risers
    Oxford Heated Grips
    Ram stem mount
Zero Gravity Windscreen (not pictured, plus stock)
    Givi Wing-Rack
    Givi E360 Hard Cases x 2
Daugherty Motorsports compression valves in the forks
Daugherty Motorsports fork springs (plus stock)
Daugherty Motorsports rear 929 conversion (plus stock)
Corbin seat with passenger backrest (plus stock)
    Rear seat cowl
Delkevic Stubby slip-on AND D&D slip-on exhaust (plus stock)
    VFRness wiring harness
    R&G frame sliders
Adjustable brake and clutch levers (plus stock)
    12v Cigarette adapter
    Throttle lock for ‘cruise control’

The achilles heel on Honda’s of this generation has been the charging system. As such, the R/R has been replaced and the VFRness added.

Bike also comes with the original manual, original tool kit, CD w/ service and parts manual, and a box of extra oil, filters, EBC HH brake pads, extra fairing bolts, and other assorted parts. Also have a bunch of receipts to go with the bike.

This is a solid sport touring bike that’s dialed and needs nothing. All the ‘faults’ (electrical and overdamped, undersprung suspension) of the original design have been addressed and when ridden well, this bike will easily give newer sportbikes a run for the money. Just got back from a tour and was able to get 340+km/tank when riding conservatively.

No test rides, no time wasters, local sale, cash. $3800
