A motorcyclist is fortunate to be alive after a freak accident late this afternoon on Highway 97 near Lake Country.
The motorcycle, southbound on the highway at the time, was part of the collateral damage which occurred when the tire on a passing truck came off the vehicle and collided with the motorcycle.
The truck was, at the time, proceeding northbound and the offending tire was from the driver's side, rear corner.
"He (truck driver) just had his tired replaced, but that was about a week ago," explained Corporal Barb Holley of Lake Country RCMP detachment.
"He said he felt no vibration or anything."
The accident stalled traffic in both directions for some time as emergency responders took charge of the situation.
"It would appear he (motorcyclist) has a broken leg," she continued. "He could have been in much worse shape."http://www.castanet.net/news/Central...s-motorcyclist
