Interesting thing happened to me last week while I was relaxing on Hornby Island. We have some friends that are getting on in age (70's) but are still are fairly computer savvy. Long story short, they have a 15 kilowatt generator that has been broken for 15 months and they have thrown over $2k in parts and labour to get it going. The island car mechanic and electrician have both spent tons of hours with no results. I offered to have a look at it, promising nothing (as I was pretty drunk because they have a still). So I googled the symptoms with model # and get a few folks who have had similar issues. The solution was to re-gap the plugs and pull the fuses to re-set the control panel. BAM! It fired right up! They were so stoked. Today I googled FCR carb choke will not stay open. My choices were a new part, or a zip-tie fix. So take the time and google that shit, it may save you some cash.
