Anything You Can Do...... I Can Do Drunker
"Growin up leads to growin old and then to dying...... And dying to Me don't sound like all that much fun"
I'd really like to see a detailed breakdown of how they scored all that.
Of course if you're young, and out drinking, whoring, and toking till all hours on a Saturday nite, forget about it.
Let's just get this out there because everyone will say it:
"Great city but nobody can afford to live here".
"Only a Biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window."
Relative to means. If you have cash any of those places are great.
Canada has 3 in the top 10, Australia has 4. Two relatively small countries have 70% of the best cities in the world.
Good to see we have 30% of the best cities in the world.
I did notice all of the top ten are from smaller countries.

The report ranks 140 cities from around the world and scores them in five categories: stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.
this must be based on theory vs reality. for one, i'm not sure about you guys, but the wait for health care in and around van is shit. the culture? pales in comparison to most worldly cities. education? what? ubc? lol. infrastructure? gimme a fucking break. the infrastructure is decades behind. i'll give vancouver top marks for environment and it's surroundings, but lets not kid ourselves, there are many cities around the world surrounded by mountains and oceans. stability, yea ok, it is canada. not to rain(bada bump) on anyone's parade but i don't think these studies take into account the life of a normal citizen when they are written. they should complement this with a study of the 10 best cities to be broke in.
Full Yoshi SS, Galfer wave rotors, Goodridge steel lines, Hel oil lines, Corbin GFL, Penske rear, RaceTech front, Hids, Givi hard bags with full lighting kit, Dyna Coils, K&N, Samco rad hoses, 9500ix/iQ, Pazzo, some bling, some CF.
paris, lyon, san fran, tokyo, seoul, kyoto, singapore, shanghai, frankfurt, munich, amsterdam, milan, zurich.....etc. take away the mountains meeting the ocean and ubc and how high on that list would vancouver be? like i said infrastructure is a joke compared to cities worldwide. health care, it's not even free in bc, is lacking especially when the city is losing talented healthcare professionals due to real estate prices. stability? how stable is the local economy? not very in my eyes when the majority of it is based on building and selling housing. yes canada is a stable nation, but vancouver is not, rich immigrants do not make for a healthy and stable economy. the culture? yea lots of asian and south asian cuisine coupled with the downsides of bringing remnants of their old country with them. the culture in many of the cities i listed have had a diverse population for a lot longer than a century and do not have huge, self inflicted segregation issues. vancouver is a great city, but to say that it is tops for livability for the average citizen is a stretch, for a wealthy individual to park some cash sure. most kids i grew up with were either satellite kids from hk or well off from india. the locals got pushed out as they couldn't compete with foreign money.
funny how all the fools from onterrible chime in. go back then, you won't be missed. i wasn't bashing vancouver, just stating that i don't blindly agree with the study due to pride of where i'm from or any other emotional feeling. i would like to see a list of rankings for folks earning an average wage per city, i'm sure the results would be much different. as far as canada goes, bc can't be beat when it comes down to it, why else would you all show up here?
