    Suspension tuning Clinic.... FINAL REPORTS

We have a time and place.

Saturday May 10 at 10 AM at BOMAX's.

Hopefully you all are familiar with where it's at. If not I'll call up a map for ya.

If the weekend is no good for some of you I may host another evening session a short time later.

In the meantime here's some links to articles I pulled up using Google and "motorcycle suspension tuning". There's some good reading if you're interested in what we will be doing. In the second link forget about the spring removal bit. That's pretty passe for what we are trying to do. But there are a lot of good insights in that article.

And my all time fav from my own links...

Note the super oh so cool color scheme on the R1 in the heading pic. A nod to Yamaha's racing history from the 70's and 80's but very contemporary as well. If I ever get another Yamaha........

A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.

Don't worry about reposting. I just wanted a new thread with a title that stood out for everyone to notice.

RD, you're out of luck I'm afraid. I don't expect it to go much past noon. One at the latest.

Perhaps is we bribe John with some donuts and coffee or something else he would be willing to host a second session during a weekday evening for those like you that can't make it on a weekend. Say something like 6:30 to 8 PM? John, can you be bribed?

Hey guys, Be sure to spray your shock preload adjuster with some WD40 a couple of days before the session. Older bikes may have their adjusters stuck solid otherwise.

i wouldnt mind taking part here.... so far i have just been guessing at my preload settings, getting some help here would be nice.

BTW.. i DO NOT HAVE A SPANNER WRENCH.... but i have some "BUTCHER" style tools that should do the job...
