what happened to the option to delete your own posts if so desired?
This was removed some time ago to prevent people from deleting threads that had good content in them... we're actively discussing it (As of a few days ago) to see what the right option is.
I think if someone has created a thread they should always have the ability to delete it regardless of what is in it.
Admin can still "see" a deleted thread right? And repost if something was truly valuable, no?
I'm not addicted! and I'm not quitting!!
Heeere's your sign...
...and "always" look on the bright side of life...
I think the ability to delete the user authored content should be considered an important feature. Try not to cripple your forum.
te tee ... te te tee ...... te tee ...te te tee............ te tee .

Kerunt. This is the last time I will state this. This setting is not a result of any site changes or "corporate policy". It's been in place for much longer than that. If you choose not to believe me that's fine. There is value to not having it set - if people delete their threads with lots of valuable content in them .. it's a terrible thing.
The cause of this setting was due to a couple of old members logging in and wanting to "remove their face from the internet". They went in and deleted a number of threads on the site that had lots of valuable information in them. They don't care about the community, me, or you. So I disabled it waiting to see what would happen.
Yes. We could revert this but I think it's worth discussion.
