Ok, so with all the other posts about going free TV, I thought I'd give it a whirl. In the past, I'm not stranger to downloading shows and movies, etc, but thought I'd gain some insight from other members here.
I've used xbox, xbox360, PS3, and 2 versions of Western Digital TV and TV Live to stream to my TV. I use the US version of Netflix on both PS3 and WD TV Live. I have a Synology 8TB NAS that has full dlna media streaming capabilities and use it to store movies that I've digitized to keep my library online. I also subscribe to Bell Sat TV, but the monthly costs are starting to make me go hmmmmmmm.
So I just picked up a GBox Midnight MX2 android media box. This thing has XBMC with just about every XBMC app. I've used Icefilms, which is pretty damn good and my internet is fast enough to stream 1080p with little issues.
I guess what I'm looking for is ideas for other services out there. What do you use for autodownloaders with RSS feeds? I'm looking to make this easy enough to use so that the GF can easily just find what she wants and won't miss the Sat TV. My problem is that I like a lot of discovery and food network stuff, so I'm not sure I'll find all that online. Anyone else using an Android streamer? XBMC? What apps/plugins do you use?
