Anyone Dragon Boat?
Okay, who here paddles on a Dragon Boat?
List what team(s) your on.
i used to paddle but along time ago.. a few years back in this community centre team.. strathcona.. hahah..
had sooo much fun...... i really want to get back into it.. but no team to join..
Hey I know that team.
A couple of our members used to belong to them.
I paddle with Team Storm. My 3rd year paddling.
Won gold the first year, with Team20/20.
I paddle with Gm (called Roli Dragons now), and coach Fresh off the Dragonboat.
So you paddle with Team Storm eh? Awesome, that's always been one of the best 'asian' teams around.
We paddle in the same timeslot, on wedsnesdays I think.
In fact, our teams did a race together last Wedsnesday, your boat had a bunch of holes in it though.. missing something like 3 or 4 seat's worth?
Is your team entered in the False Creek Regatta?
Team No Team
I practiced with Alcan Team Success for a while 2 years ago, but left town for a few months and never made it back into the sport since. Wicked fun during that time though!
Hey Factory Pilot, yeah were in the regatta. I think the morning shift and you? Hmmm is there more than one regatta?
My wife paddles with a Chilliwack team.
fcrcc regatta tomorrow, and the alcan regatta is may 25
I've got the list of teams for tomorrow, only 24 teams, but there's about 8-10 top teams in there, gonna be a whole worlda hurt!
i'm with a team called SWORDFISH.
nice bunch of ppl. none of them know i'm on bcsb tho so *shh*
(we're named after swordfish the fish... no relation to the hugh jackman "Swordfish" movie)
I'll post up a link to full race results soon, but here's the Top division's results in the final race.
Lane 1- Alpha Dragons Blue, 2.05.30, 6th
Lane 2- Alpha Dragons Red, 1.54.65, 2nd
Lane 3- Pacific Reach, 1.55.19, 3rd
Lane 4- Roli Rebels, 2.00.06, 5th
Lane 5- Roli Dragons, 1.56.90, 4th
Lane 6- CIBC, 1.54.03, 1st (this team is pretty much TD Thunder, so no surpise that they won, but they had a 'curiously' slow 2nd heat)
There was a wild collision in one of the semi-finals,
the racing was tight , with 5 boats side-by-side, and one of the boats started to veer, and went wildly off course through 3 other boats.. and then veered the OTHER way and right across our sister team's path..
the funny thing is after all that mayhem, the guilty party took it up again and paddled to the finish. All other boats stopped except ours and the 'drunk' boat.
Results were upheld so the 'drunk' boat won the heat.
Pretty funny stuff.

Glad to see some paddlers on the BCSB!
I was there practicing on sunday and saw the collision,
I think someone was hurt, it looked like she took it in the leg. Hope she's okay, look's like she'll have a nasty bruise.
As for the CIBC team, we'll try to hunt them down.
Oh my, those times are fast. We've been timing ourselves and not too good, compared to those. But we never have a full boat.
I'll be racing the next regatta, on the 24th. Most likey the am times.
I here the races will consist of 10 boats per heat, collisions are inevitable, be safe all.
Thanks for the link.
It'll give us a goal to reach.
As for Haze, if I see yeah, I'm pointing you out!!!
Are you the coach, BTW?
Oh yeah, Factory Pilot, do you have a asian guy
named Steven on your team, don't know his last name.
But he works at MAIL BOXES ETC.
hahah me coach? nah, i'm just another db grunt ;0)
can't think of a better target than the Laoyam Eagles.
No, no Steve on our team.
