I always hear the age old arguement whether the Police have ticket quotas or not. Well here's a link to today's story on CBC about how in Calgary the Police can't meet their quotas and will start having to bust people who don't deserve it. It's refreshing to hear a cop complain about it for a change.

From the article- "Al Koenig, president of the Calgary Police Association, says they support the intent of safer roads, but are concerned more careful drivers will make it difficult for officers to reach their quotas of 20 tickets a month.
That, he says, could lead to officers writing tickets for more minor offences, where they typically would issue a warning.
"Arguably, if everybody slows down and pays attention to the rules of the road it will be a lot more difficult for our members to write tickets," he said. "So, they'll have to look for more minor offences.
Koenig says that could include getting dinged for unsignalled lane changes, tinted windows or having the licence plate sticker in the wrong corner."
Quotas for cops rule, get 20 in a day and it's Tim Hortons for the rest of the month...
