Aircraft landing in severe crosswinds, inducing pucker factor.

Watch these attempted landings and take-offs in extreme cross wind situations from a Birmingham Airport. Plenty of aborted landings as the pilots wisely seem to want to live another day. Some of the take-offs almost twist the plane 90 degrees. Hopefully not a re....

I have had more than a few flights into, and out of, small airports on the west cost of B.C., in all weather conditions.

When the weather is bad the pilots get a round of applause on landing, well deserved.

    Ride safe folks.

Oh fuck no....I can't watch all of that. Makes me anxious just to see it.

I was on a flight where I was looking up the runway from my seat over the wing....coming in for a landing at a 45 or better angle....JHC that is fucked up.

Mesmerizing! At about 10:20 Pilot has wheels down, but still decides to go around! You can see smoke from a building in the background gives some idea of windspeed. Very cool video collection.

In spite of the wind conditions some of the pilots still pulled off some "greasers".

Best approach and landing was the one at the 8:00 mark, that driver has the skills.
