Bought an Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 at the bike show this year and have been trying to get
enough Ks on it for it's first service. You need 400K before the computer will let you rev it
past 6.5.I was messing around near the airport in Pitt Meadows when I passed the mark,
no bells or lights nothing to let me know the bike had just gone from sane to insane or mild to monster.Of course I read about this bike but nothing quite prepares you for what your
about to experience.
I was coming out of one of those 90% turns leaned over getting on the throttle and instead of shifting at 6 thousand I thought now that I can I'll let it keep revving.Instead of a nice clean corner exit I got the front wheel heading for the heavens while I'm still leaned over with the bike pulling like hell while heading for a ditch that looks like a small canyon. The many
crossed up wheelies on RDs and RZs when I was younger left something cause my brain
told me to shift my weight and roll down smoothly and back to earth came the front end and I ran it smoothly up to 9 grand through a couple of gears to celebrate.
After all I could think was I love this bike and what a time to be able to ride when you can buy bikes like this.I wonder if I'm to old to take some stunting lessons?Maybe race some supermoto?Crap I better be careful or I'm going to lose my drivers license.........
