Looking to hear some stories how you've been caught on the S2S?
My family and friends are spread between downtown and Squamish, so I ride/drive the highway a lot. When conditions are good and traffic is nonexistent, I'm comfortable doing excessive speeds. Now that I'm on the highway more often, I'm putting more thought into keeping my cash and drivers license.
I know they use a helicopter occasionally, and I take a look around every few minutes, but it's difficult to ride and simultaneously scan the sky. My brother has received a chopper ticket... he figures he was doing double the speed limit, they wrote the minimum ticket, he disputed in court, chopper pilot didn't show and brother walked.
The best countermeasure to laser is knowing the spots - parking detector jammers don't make sense on a bike and they are pricey. Where are these spots? I've only seen them Northbound on the Lions Bay Ave offramp.
I've been caught in Cranbrook in a long straight by a cruiser with in-car radar, and again passing a ghost car in the city with the same. Thinking a Valentine1 would be a good asset. Do the cops in Vancouver and S2S keep their radar on often enough to warrant doing so?
