Never heard of Avon tires before, but it seems that they have good reviews. Either way, Motorcycle Superstore has what could be a good sale on some models now.
Avon just came out with 3 new styles of sportbike tires - the 3D Ultra Sport, The 3D Ultra Supersport and the 3D Ultra Extreme.
The street oriented 3D Ultra Sport is going for $130 for a set with free shipping
If the reviews are favourable and the price is very good - I'd say get the tires.
I'm running Avon Distanzias on my bike now, and they've been very good. As for the tires you've mentioned, I doubt you'll get nearly as much wear life out of them as you would Michelin Pilot Road 3s, but you should be able to get 8-10k's out of the Avons with better feel. Overall a good value at the sale price. :2cents
Had an Avon Roadwinner on my 250, it got around 17k km when I sold the bike and it was still holding together with an acceptable level of tread and no flat spots. Didn't slip n slide around in the rain and handled being pushed to the bikes limits fine.
I have Avon 3D ultra sport on my 12r. Love them. Ripped up Mulholland drive and the Angeles Crest last fall in southern Cali. I had zero complaints. Will be buying them again once these are done.
Motorcycle world in surrey have good pricing on power 3, 320$ For a set of 190/55 and 120/70. That is better then any online price I could find and give ur local shops some business.
I have never heard a bad word spoken of the Dunlops.
