Was reading the province today and in a 5 sentence text only section was a story of a 16 year old rider killed by a hit and run making a left in surrey. I started building his life in my head and these were my thoughts:
-His mom probably pleaded with him to get a car and not a bike
-He begged and after months of convincing she budged or perhaps went behind her back
-Worked his ass off at his mcjob to finally be able to get his first bike
-Goes for a nice little ride and some guy turning left smokes him and leaves him for dead in the streets
-Mom raised her son for 16 years only to have him smoked and left for dead in the streets by some piece of shit scumbag who doesn't even have the decency to stop to see if the kid is alright. The kid had hopes and dreams and fears. He was a person, and not a statistic.
-In the end he just becomes a tiny 5 sentence report in the corner of the paper.
