How is it ok that every now and then we get all these armchair riders with such strong opinions on other riders skills and they think it's ok to demean, belittle and otherwise humiliate people by calling them out on the interwebz?
A new rider (under 5 years of riding?) should be someone you help with their skills, safety and attitude in a positive and meaningful way. Explain how it's helpful when you post abusive and derogatory comentary. What does it fix? The only effect it can have is to drive them away and make them withdraw, effectively denying them an opportunity to learn through participation and feedback. How about showing up in person, seeing some way you can make a positive difference to someone's riding experience and expressing that same opinion face-to-face.
There isn't a single rider on here who is as good as they think they are. If there was, you would be winning races and we'd see your face on TV and in the news. Everyone here is an amateur and at best, has developed some skill through YEARS of practice (and multiple crashes - as we all know). I can't think of more than 3 people on here who have the trophies to prove how good they really are, and those people actually do pay it forward through gentle coaching and supporting new riders.
The rest of you are, at best, beer league racers trying to make yourselves feel better about yourselves by tearing someone else down and crowing "look how great I am".
