I just got a ticket coming home. I was travelling up the HWY #1 and as I was passing a van she decided to change lanes to pass the car in front of her. Me being right beside her and noticing the lane change coming I gun the bike and accelerate out of there passing her and the car in front of her. Being a little frightened and pissed off I kept the gas going till I hit 130 (in a 90 zone) and was in front of the van and car.....little did I know the car the was in front of her was a undercover cop car. Ended up getting a ticket for 175 and 3 points. My argument was the van was going to cut me off and i kept accelerating because I wanted to get away from the van and him so I could be in the lead, away from cagers..(there was no one in front of them)
He said I should just have hit the brakes or stopped accelerating once out of danger. I have never had a ticket on my bike or car in four years of driving/ridin and was wondering if there is anything I can do to dispute this. Also, the officer never had a radar gun. He estimated 140kms/h.
Thanks for any help
