Question NWS Crash Without Gloves? Got pics

Have you or someone you know crashed when not wearing gloves.

Do you have some pictures of those hands.

Im finding a huge problem with people not wearing gloves when riding. Even guys practicing wheelies without gloves on. Freaks me out!

Im trying to make a point and need some pictures to go with it. If you could help me out, that would be sweet

Just be sure to post a warning in the thread title. Those are pictures I DON'T want to see.

I used to wear leather gloves even riding my mountain bike.
Every day I break my previous record of consecutive days still alive.

I had a low speed getoff last year, my knuckle armour was worn half way down, palm studs half ground down, and no other damage to the gloves. W/O gloves I'd have no knuckles and lost all the skin/meat on my palms almost for sure. And I slid MAYBE 10 feet.

Yuck. Same deal in my wreck. Slid a lot longer, and the knuckles in the gloves were worn right down. Makes ya sick to think what the other scenario could have been w/o the gloves. Even when I squid it out heading to work (in a sweater or a t-shirt) I still throw on the gloves.

    I wish.
Ok, picture for a second if you will. Just falling down on regular roads. Just falling down. How much your hands hurt. Now go run.. and then fall down. Hurts more right? Now go ride your bike and fall... hurts LOTs more doesn't it? Ok.. now go ride a motorcycle without gloves.

Show 'em a rashed jacket or something.
Everytime it's hot out and I think... "well maybe just this one time", all it takes me is one look at my jacket. Rather slow speed get off but shoulder armor is ground pretty well. Just imagining NOT wearing it, or it being my hands (which survived well thanks to gloves) makes me shudder.

Btw, why the heck is vroomcrew's site passworded...

Mmm... Picture reminds me of last year.

Unfortunately, I didn't think of taking photos of my fresh road rash. Fortunately, the scars on both my palms is hardly noticable anymore ('cept when I drink, and the blood rushes to the skin... turns into two nice red splotches).

I will carry scars on my right forearm and right knee for the rest of my life. Not willing to lose any more skin to the roads, I've invested in full gear for this and future riding seasons.

Oh yeah, it was painful trying to move with all the new scars, because every time you flexed, it would crack open somewhere... Walking became a S&M experience, and I learned to type with my palms floating above the keyboard, because pressure would cause my fingers to go numb...

I rode Deal's Gap / The Dragon in September 2007 and I visited Yellowstone in August 2010. Where have you been?

I heard about a guy who lost 2.5 fingers (pinky to middle) while sliding down the main drag in Penticton at 100 or so kph. Pardon the pun.

The same dude used to race to YVR from Penticton for pink slips too.

There's a paperclip in the forum listing beside any thread with pictures in it.

There was a girl in North Van that came off. She was a passenger on the back of a hog. If you know North Van. On 23rd street going east towards Lynn Valley there is one tigh corner to the right going up a small hill. A well he was over to much and dumped the bike. She came off and actually ground down her pinky toe. She was wearing sandles. Ouch.4 toes on that foot now.
