I've seen a few flip-up full-face helmets lately, most notably the HJC Symax (hjchelmets.com) that my BCSC instructor was wearing during my Traffic Skills course. After watching him for two days, I just knew I needed one of those helmets. It was way easier to "flip-up" than to "take off."
I know there are others out there, as I remember trying on at least one a few years ago before I finally chose my HJC CL-12. At the time I just couldn't find a flip-up that fit me, and the Symax didn't exist then (or at least, nobody out here carried it).
Now that i'm licensed i'm looking for a helmet for my SO, and I thought i'd try to find her one of the flip-ups. While researching online, I found a note that most of them are classified as 3/4 helmets, and that the "jaw" is just cosmetic... Not really a good thing, IMHO.
So, does anyone know which ones are classified as full-face, and where you can buy them here in town? Or have any recommendations for specific models?
Thanks in advance...
