    Bent rim repair

so... fixing my 2006 GSXR 750 after crash, and noticed last night that my front rim is bent. and quite noticably. Its a stock rim - can be repaired at all? or am i looking at new replacement (or used)?

A good repair is going to cost about the same as a good use rim...

Take it to Green's and get their opinion.

If it's still holding air it can likely be repaired.

Surprisingly it is still holding air, and maybe that’s why I didn’t notice while hovering over the bike for hours. Thanks guys – I will take it to greens.

Should i look for anything else bent (forks, etc)? maybe a dumb question

Yes, you should be checking every part. For the front rim, you can check on ebay for a new one. The colour may not match so you can colour both wheels to the colour of your choice.

Call my buddy Rich @ Nu-Brite in Surrey...best shop in town IMO.

Thanks Stewy. Greens said 'non-repairable’. If it was a non-critical part, I would seek 2nd opinion, but in case of the wheel I would like to be 100% sure (given its my track bike). So I am looking at replacing it.

So it seems like replacing it also much easier said than done. I have looked at all used listing in BC and WA and came up with nothing, so the two options available are - Ebay or dealer:
    - Dealer is a no-brainer that comes at $800. Freaking ouch…
    - Ebay has myriad of options – from repaired/salvaged wheels to new wheels from China/Hong Kong. Again, buying a repaired wheel doesn’t instill 100% confidence without seeing it. Anyone has any experience/opinions on buying wheels from off-shore suppliers? I work in the industry that sources a lot of products and components in China, so I am not against it. Don’t have any experience with wheels thou – any thoughts/recommendations/warnings?

Buy quality wheels from a reputable wheel manufacturer. Wera Classifieds model specific bike sites? Personally I wouldn't buy knock off wheels but that's me.
