To summarize, the guy was travelling at 97mph on a road as a a car turned in front of him.
The consensus is that it's the bike riders fault.
What is surprising is that the driver of the car accepted fault for the accident.
At 100mph, and five seconds before death, the biker is 500m away. That's pretty far. That is way beyond any driver making a turn across the road to comprehend that something 500m away will be at their location in less than 5 seconds.
It's at least a 50/50 fault.
I hate it in the video that the mother of the dead biker implored car drivers to think about bikers even if they are speeding too fast to just slow down.
I'm of the mindset that if I as a biker cannot avoid a car turning in front of me in an intersection, i'm probably going too fast.
Having the right of way is pretty immaterial if I'm dead.
